This wedding at Junior League of Houston was amazing to be a part of. Some of my favorite images from this wedding were the moments between the guest that we were able to capture. I asked Caroline to share with us her favorite parts from her wedding day.
From The Bride:
After deciding on the historic Christ Church Cathedral, with its gorgeous stained-glass as the setting for the ceremony, and the elegant, chandelier-set ballroom at the Junior League of Houston as the reception venue, we knew the theme was going to be “timeless, classic, and elegant.” Playing off the elements of these venues, I chose a simple white satin dress, used classic calligraphy fonts throughout the paper goods, incorporated a custom monogram, and chose white and soft-pink flowers. A must-have was the black-and-white checked dance floor. For me, this pulled the entire reception “look” together, and was my favorite element of the night.
Honestly, the inspiration of “timeless, classic, elegant” came from my husband. He is a humble, kind, and simple person. He loves classic, yet elegant things, and through him, I have come to appreciate them as well. He has taught me that some of the most beautiful things are the ones that are tried and true – classic, yet still beautiful in their own profound way.
Apart from the “look” of the wedding, we wanted the day to be spiritual and meaningful. With that in mind, we chose our three favorite hymns to be played and sung by the incredibly talented Allyson Watson – she has the voice of an angel. The song that I walked down the aisle to, “King of My Heart” (by Bethel Music), has lyrics that completely defines the foundation which William and I seek in our marriage.
